Greetings, dear faithful brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,
We rejoice and are grateful for the powerful prayer warriors from KCPC and other parts of America who support us. Your prayers mean the world to us.
October 2024 has been a month of blessings. We were thrilled to attend a performance by the Manila Symphony Orchestra, featuring Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 and Symphony No. 4, followed by a heartfelt visit from our daughter, Jasmine. Jinju traveled to Seoul to meet Jasmine, and they enjoyed a week of mother-daughter bonding and cherished time together.

On the day Jinju flew to Seoul, I joined the Sorok Uni Foundation in a medical mission with the Overseas Korean Traders Association of the Philippines (OKTAP) at KAMADA Manila Boys Town Village. This community, part of the Sorok NCR Village, supports individuals and families facing challenges such as homelessness, illiteracy, and social stigma, including those affected by leprosy. We provided medical services, including dental care, pharmacy, mobile X-ray for tuberculosis screening, chiropractic, and acupuncture to over 350 residents. A sudden downpour towards the end of the day couldn’t dampen our spirits, and we concluded the day with a fellowship dinner.

Short Family Get-Away to nearby Ho Chi Min City (Saigon), Vietnam
Jasmine and Jinju returned just after midnight on Monday, 21-Oct, and within 24 hours, we were off to Saigon for a quick family getaway. Our time was short—just 36 hours—but we made the most of it, exploring the city, enjoying authentic Pho, and sampling street food at Ho Thi Ky. Though our visit was brief, it was filled with wonderful family memories. As we bid farewell to Jasmine, we couldn’t help but say, “See you again soon!”

Prayer Requests:
• Through your prayers, JinJu has experienced significant relief from the itchiness and pain in her hands. While not fully healed, her condition has improved greatly. Thank you for your intercession on her behalf.
• JinJu is currently undergoing a 10-week training program in Rapha Psychological Counseling through Art. We pray that this training will equip her to effectively help those at the Sorok Uni OSAEC Center in the future.
• Carleton and JinJu will be leading small groups for middle and high school students at Manila New Life Church in the new year. We pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them as they minister to current and new students, leading them to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and experience a life abundant in God’s love.
• We ask for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, direction, and insight for Carleton as he continues his seminary studies this semester, which concludes in mid-December.
• We pray for God’s guidance as we prepare to establish the Sorok Uni OSAEC Center to care for 50 girls in the new year. While the center will open early next year, we plan to move in full-time in June 2025. In the interim, we will serve part-time, commuting between Manila and the center.
• We pray for physical and spiritual protection, that we may overcome any ailments or obstacles in Jesus’ name.
